This is the best streaming service I'm aware of. It's one you can learn from. As you watch the great collection of films and the extras that are included with them, you quickly discover more and more that you want to watch. I will also say that the Criterion Channel values its customers, unlike other streaming services. Think of a subscription to this service as a rare subscription that will pay for itself in terms of the value and the knowledge that it will give you. It's excellent.

UI could be better across all platforms though, i wish the TV version of the app would allow for subtitle customization as the desktop version and i also wish the over all layout of content varied more and had a better organization

I've been using Criterion for about a month now, and I can safely say that it has an excellent collection. Genres and time periods are various; the amount of films (a lot that I have never even heard of) is surprisingly vast; and it has a surprising amount of short films too. I haven't encountered in glaring issues with the app whatsoever, and for $10 a month and no ads, it's not a bad deal for cinephiles like myself.

Whether you should see it or whether you’ve already pretended you have, chances are it’s part of the Criterion Collection. The world of cinema, trash, treasure, true and transcendent all are found in this generous app. Wonderful programming and collections as well as a wealth of selection, this app is the best one you’ll pay to stream today. I never have enough time to ‘catch up’ and the Criterion app never makes me feel like I’ve seen it all.

Joking title aside, absolutely love the Criterion channel. It makes amazing films accessible at all times, even while flying! I’ll typically download several films before a long flight, especially things that I haven’t had a chance to sit down and watch under normal terms. Great selection, constantly rotating, and keeping things interesting. Way better than Netflix!

Asking the public to pay for multiple streaming services is one of the worst things to have happened to consumers, but for true cinema lovers, Criterion Channel is well worth it. Movies you can’t find anywhere else, from all around the world, including short films and interviews with directors. There’s never been a moment on this site where there’s nothing to see!

I love that there are films curated in theme, era or filmmaker Criterion channel does so well. Sometimes I want some more things on the channel, being an avid watcher of the app I end up repeating films/genres. I understand licensing is very hard and appreciate dearly what is available to us through Criterion. I love buying physical media I save for my Criterion stuff( I wish it was cheaper but so goes life) I can’t wait to grab Desperate Living in 4K!

No question that some of the best films in the world are represented here, but I find the app itself difficult to use. It needs to have a better browse function. There’s no way to just look over the entire body of content at the same time, and I feel that most of the content is not represented without a thorough and knowledgeable search.Still, if you love cinema, they should be your first stop.

At a time when David Zavlov is bragging about brave a choice it was to literally destroy art (which he called content), it makes me appreciate Criterion Channel even more. They genuinely care about art and I know they’re never going to offer a cheap version which interrupts your movies with ads for Swiffer.ETA: Still enjoying the heck out of this service! The best there is (though Arrow Player is pretty great too)
