  • As an Adult I love this Game !

    Food Stylist!

This game is honestly so satisfying and relaxing, I can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes designing one scene. There are so many options to really make it feel like your own instead of the same 5-10 options over and over again. You don’t need to spend any money to enjoy this, but I’m sure you will if you spend enough time on it lol. I have a short interest span for games but I’ve been playing this for over 7 months and I never miss a beat.

  • This is such a good idea but

You have to spend gold or star tokens for some of the options. Why can’t we just have one currency that’s used to buy everything in game? Also the voting system is really awful. I promise you my designs are not that bad yet consistently rank 7th place or lower for no real reason? The devs will probably respond swearing that the voters are real people but I kind of doubt itWinning 1st-3rd place awards you the premium currencies which you run out of fast. By making wins rare the devs can get you to buy premium currencies with real world money. And that’s a scummy tactic

I really enjoy this game—I was skeptical at first but it has a ton of fun content! Love the filters, that’s such a fun idea. The only thing that really rubs me the wrong way is the voting. I had the same problem with Redecor when I used to play, and the discrepancy with placements caused me to stop playing because it made the game incredibly stressful and unenjoyable. I agree that “style” and beauty are in the eye of the beholder, but when my carefully thought out scene (tweaking each placement, making everything coordinating colors, even thinking about the prompts) gets last place and scenes that are garish and totally mismatched (not in a stylistic way; you can tell the user just pressed things at random) get a top 3 placement…it’s a little discouraging. I’m not mad about not winning, just about people not doing their best to actually compare designs. I’d love to see some sort of fix where the voting doesn’t matter QUITE so much, and people are free to make their own choices without either feeling like they need to please the crowd OR randomly pick whichever option is closest to their thumb. Either way, it still seems better than Redecor and I LOVE getting to create my own dishes! I picked the Medieval passport and I am honestly obsessed with it. Please add more decorative objects from olden days to balance out the modern stuff! My medieval torch lamp is my most prized possession haha 😍

  • Too long waiting in between stylings

Playing and budgeting my game currency for free mode, I utilize watching the ads and choosing items that coincide with my points budgets but after you finish submissions you’re barely replenished with points you just spent and it’s EXTREMELY hard to progress if you are playing for free. In free mode working with points and coins you have saved, the game barely gives you enough to do one style assignment and your design choices are EXTREMELY LIMITED putting another damper on the fun of a potentially awesome game. GREAT CONCEPT is why you received 3 stars from me but lack of actual time playing the game, too many roads that lead to them asking you for money is why you didn’t get 5 stars that’s real. The economy is HORRIBLE all over the world and most people aren’t spending money on pay-per-play video games where there are THOUSANDS OF COMPLETELY FREE GAMES IN THE IPAD STONE. I’ll hold this one on my pro for another day or two because I like it but if the game play doesn’t resume soon and enable me to do more styles I’ll have to uninstall. The value of my time watching your ads for items in the game FAR EXCEEDS the purchase price of most of your game packs and is the same as if I gave you money. If I’m watching an ad, MY TIME ISNT FREE and the ad revenue you pull from the game alone mitigates your lack of game pack sales. Developers should consider checking their greed and make steps to improve their game because it has massive potential.

  • Great Game but Money Grabbing

    Enviousins

Like redecor but with food. Its great design and premise, love making the dishes and the designs. But most items you have to pay for or unlock by winning with time (it can make things difficult starting out. And even if you unlock you only get 3 uses) my biggest complaint is the lack of cash reward. Which is what most of the cheaper items use. $100 seems like a lot until your building a dish and everything costs $7-$20+ and it all adds up really fast when each set has 30+ items to purchase and build. I just ran into the case of running out of money and even if i built down everything i was still -80. I tried going into others but also ran into the same issue. I have $136 despite having done every design the day prior. And winning first place a couple times (and others less so). I havent done any other scenes because i dont have enough cash. This just seems incredibly unbalanced. Voting only gains you spoons, not cash like redecor did. I found i couldnt buy cash either. So now im stuck with only being able to use the gold or tokens. Which coincidentally i dont have enough. Just a shame really that this is even a possibility as a new starting player. Otherwise the game is fantastic, would pay for its seasons but eh im starting to already see a massive money grab and imbalance towards its players

  • The game is great but the voting…

    24NAa

I absolutely love this game but I have to give it the rating I did because the voting is absolutely terrible. First thing I recommend is DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON IT! Spending money on the special items is literally a waste when you go through the trouble of following the prompt and putting together a look that fits it. The special items literally do nothing when you have others who just throw random item together and come in first place. The game pass is a great value but don’t expect to win challenges with the items provided. If you happen to download this game be sure to play it merely for fun and because you like styling food looks. The voting will almost always let you down. I do understand that there are many players of different ages and players that have their own taste on how something looks but what is the point of giving us a prompt to follow if you can literally put whatever items together that don’t match the prompt? Overall, I DO love the game very much, I have came in first a few times but lost more times than I can count, I have stopped spending money on it, you can absolutely play it for free. I wish the creators of the game would invest on some sort of way to monitor either the looks that go with the prompts or monitor voting or something like that.

  • MAKE MORE PLATES AND SETS AVAILABLE WITHOUT COST AND ADS

    LeaveMeAlone:)

Okay so I play this every day literally. I’ll do a few then wait til the next day and see what I scored. Sometimes it seems rigged for sure but it’s so fun and satisfying. I’ll put my full thought into it thinking okay would this look best or this? What would help me score a higher score? I also love seeing other cultures foods and what they are named. I’ve honestly put this game into my life by plating my own food I serve to my family to look fancy. Also… please change the passion fruits look, PLEASE I’d love to use it more but it just looks like an old egg😂 I know they look like that but mannnnI never paid any money EVER. Only ads. Don’t spend money on a game for more stuff then blame the game when it’s your fault.. But it’d be so much better if they make more sets available to regular players that have been playing for awhile. I’ve racked up a few sets. But I hope they stay. It’s just hard to compete against others when they spend money and you are regular players it’s just not fair. And maybe change voting make it quicker. I don’t care what their name and score was I just vote on the best one and want more spoons to keep playing.

  • A Culinary Delight with Room for Improvement - Food Stylist Review

    nkkmre6617

After two years immersed in the delectable world of Food Stylist, I can confidently say it's a game that delivers both visual appeal and a welcome escape from reality. The mostly realistic graphics and engaging gameplay make it a delightful experience, perfect for those seeking a creative outlet or a momentary reprieve from daily stressors. One of the game's highlights is its ability to alleviate anxiety, offering players a chance to immerse themselves in a world of culinary creativity. I appreciate the effort put into updating certain items for a more authentic experience, further enhancing the game's realism. However, despite its many strengths, Food Stylist falls short in certain areas. The rewards for each round often feel lackluster, leaving players feeling underwhelmed. As someone who enjoys the game, I've found myself hesitant to continue spending money due to the diminishing returns. The need for better rewards, especially for those who invest in the game, is apparent. Furthermore, the limited leeway on item placement can be frustrating, occasionally resulting in unintended visual discrepancies that detract from the overall experience. Additional prizes offered through paid season passes also leave something to be desired, failing to adequately reward loyal players. I also feel their should be some kind of mini games when we have to wait hours for new events. In conclusion, Food Stylist is a captivating game that offers a refreshing escape for creative minds. However, to truly elevate the gaming experience, improvements such as enhanced rewards and more flexibility in item placement are necessary. By addressing these concerns, the developers have the opportunity to further solidify Food Stylist as a must-play for culinary enthusiasts and casual gamers alike.

  • Pricey and very money hungry

    Hischocolateprincess

Ive spent about 61 dollars on this game like a complete idiot because I wanted to get nicer plates and better food. Despite this much the coins run out because after you’ve paid they jack the price up for items through the roof. So something may cost 15 silver coins but once you've paid for some coins with real money and return back its 30 coins which is so scummy. I’ve been trying to stick around but today was the last straw. I had 34 silver coins left and i entered a contest where Mexican food was basically the theme. Well we only have a choice of 4 items that are completely bland and makes your presentation look boring. While the better food is stuck behind a pay wall of silver coins the most priciest in game shop item ive ever paid for. 5 dollars for 80 silver coins when items cost 30 to 25 after you paid for coins. (Remember they jack the prices up after you're paid so you can run out quickly and pay for more coins ) The game is fun but it quickly becomes annoying and scammy-ish once you realized you've spent 600 dollars on it and you still end up 2nd and below place. Also half of the materials are behind a pay wall.

  • Too many glitches!

    Crys_717

This app has so much potential to be good or even great and can be addictive, but I’m giving 2 stars because it loads too slowly, glitches every single time you watch an ad and there are far too many premium items over deluxe that makes you want to not want to play. Deluxe items can be given for free if you watch an annoying ad or bought at a fair price with Gold. However, the most annoying is that the ads freeze and it kicks you out of the app and you don’t get the deluxe item anyway and you’ve wasted your time and effort to not have that item. But there are also not enough items to choose from, it’s the same old stuff unless you buy a season pass. That’s unfair and irritating. Not everyone can afford it or wants the whole pass. Then there are the items you win that you don’t like, you should be able to trade or sell them. And the silver coins for premium items need to be easier to obtain and the gold too. The cash stacks up with little to do with it. You should be able to trade in chunks of it for either gold or the silver coins. Improve this app! Start with the glitches! And then work on the items!
