Okay mastodon.social seems to be hit by a DDoS Attack. But in contrast to Bluesky, where whole network is down when the main instance has a hiccup, the impact for me is limited. Thats the strength of real decentralisation!

Seems that it was the same group which attacked Bluesky last week, which seems to be affiliated with the Regime in Iran. At least thats what you can read at heise: https://www.heise.de/en/news/Bluesky-outage-DDoS-attack-allegedly-by-Iranian-group-313-Team-11265593.html
