Motörhead's Orgasmatron was officially released on 9 August 1986.

While praised as a major influence on emerging extreme metal styles, the band's legal disputes with their label, and the lack of interest from others in signing them, left them unemployed.

So, the band's managers bought them out of their contract and released their music on their own.

With a second guitarist for the first time, they continued to be "Louder than Everyone Else", in spite of it all.
