With #SNCF 🇫🇷 #TGV #inoui from #Strasbourg to #Paris. At 320 kph we pass along the #Champagne vineyards where the grape harvest is in full swing.
Before reaching Paris Est station we get a glimpse of the new (or, rather, future) #Alstom #TGV-M #Avelia-Horizon trainsets, close relatives of the #Acela #NextGen #Amtrak #Avelia-Liberty high speed trains.

The yard next to #Philadelphia, PA, 🇺🇸 Penn Station is always a good place to spot some new #Amtrak trains being made ready for service. Today I saw a few #Acela trainsets for high-speed workings along the Northeast Corridor, plus some #Cascades sets for future services in the Pacific Northwest.

Going through the pictures taken last October, when travelling on board the new #Amtrak 🇺🇸 #NextGenAcela high-speed train on the “Northeast Corridor” to New York. This #Alstom #Acela is a close relative to the future French #TGV, and it’s actually quite stylish. Top speed was above 250 kph.

Hello from the brand new, and quite stylish, #Amtrak 🇺🇸 #NextGen #Acela on its way from DC to NYC (and onwards to Boston). First stop: the train’s #CafeCar with quite a choice of food and drinks for purchase from a lovely steward.

I didn’t see any of the #Amtrak 🇺🇸 #Acela #NextGen trains out on the line, yet I spotted some of them at #Philadelphia 30th Street Station yard. They are going to enter revenue earning service in about two weeks from now.

On my way to #Boston 🇺🇸 on board #Amtrak train #2168. Waiting on the platform, I had planned to take a picture of #888, a #NextGen #Acela being on a test ride, yet it didn’t show up. I’m having coffee in the nice Café Car of my “legacy fleet” Acela instead.
