Today marks the one year anniversary of the release of my video “Introducing the Fediverse: a New Era of Social Media”

Also ich wollte nochmal sagen, ich finde das sehr schön hier - im Fediverse - auf Mastodon - mit euch... Das wir hier so zusammengefunden haben ohne die Algorithmies... und dass Menschen sowas tolles in ihrer Freizeit erschaffen haben - fernab von Macht- und Geldgier. Danke!
Und auch wenn wir uns hier darüber aufregen wie alles so ist in der Welt, ist es doch schön, dass wir hier beisammen sind und es irgendwie so eine stille Solidarität gibt und den Glauben an das Gute.

Von gmail als sekundärer (Spam-)Mailadresse weg. Wird Zeit! Hat jemand gute kostenlose Empfehlungen? Oder muss es doch ein zusätzlicher posteo.de werden wie mein Hauptmailaccount? ☺️
Ich hatte mir die Tage vorgenommen jeden #digitalIndependenceDay auszunutzen, um eine kleine Sache zu ändern und mit euren tollen Tipps läuft es schneller als gedacht. 🥰

The Christmas give away of the Mastodon plushie, which landed on @jotaluis as a winner, on the 25th of December 2024, has now actually concluded!If you watched the livestream, and the digital dice roll, you heard me wish for someone „not living in Timbuktu”, yet (claiming) that I'd keep my promise and deliver even if that was the case.
Welp, I did. I didn't organize a trip to Cuba to deliver this gift (that'd be wasteful), but I participated in a political delegation: meeting the president Diaz-Canel, participating in May Day parades, and working on fields in this country, (in part) to get the Mastodon plushie to our friend Jota Luis!
However, we got talking in the past five months, and it turned out Jota was a teacher and, if I was going to bring something from the other side of the world, it would make a lot of sense to not just bring a plushie. So, I was contacted by Labdoo, a humanitarian aid NGO who gave me a laptop with a Spanish keyboard layout to deliver! I also got a nice bag, charger, HDMI cable, some money, and other technical periphery devices and brought them with me on this political delegation!
