A Norwegian State Railways #NSB 🇳🇴 class #El12 electric is seen here at #Narvik station. These locos were built in the 1950s to work iron ore trains in Scandinavia’s far North, way beyond the Arctic Circle. Pictured is a unit composed of three sections. Photo taken in August 1985.

#Niebüll 🇩🇪 on the #Marschbahn line, with its semaphore signals. I took this picture in June 2007. A Class #DE2700 diesel (the line is not electrified) is hauling a #Hamburg to #Westerland #Sylt passenger service. These locos were originally built as Norwegian #NSB 🇳🇴 Class Di6.
