Orange County voters flooded polling places Tuesday to cast or drop off ballots that will help decide key local, state, and national contests in this year’s high-stakes midterm elections.

And while tallying each and every vote delivered by mail, drop box or in-person will be a lengthy process, the Orange County registrar of voters dropped its initial wave of vote-by-mail results online shortly after 8 p.m.

Additional rounds of unofficial in-person voting results followed later Tuesday night, with daily updates scheduled for each day at 5 p.m. beginning Wednesday during the canvass period until the last official results are posted.
