Rihanna To Be Awarded MTV Video Music Award Lifetime Achievement Prize

Rihanna will receive MTV's lifetime achievement award at the Video Music Awards later this month.

It's MTV's highest honour and is known as the Michael Jackson video vanguard award.

Last year Kanye West won the trophy, with Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears previously getting it.

"[The award] reflects an artist's impact not just on music but on pop culture, fashion, film and philanthropy," says MTV.

She will also perform at the ceremony in New York, as well as being nominated for best collaboration and best female video.

The MKN Seminar which is the first of its kind is expected to hold a capacity crowd of 1,000 people and they have announced top directors Director X who has directed music videos for Rihanna, Drake, Sean Paul and Jay Z to name a few. Sesan who has worked with artist including Wizkid, Wande Coal, Davido and Mr Moe Musa whose roster includes Tiwa Savage, Patoranking and Fuse ODG.

The Conference which has been tagged "Inside the Mind of a Successful Video Director" will take place at The Summit on NERDC Road in Ikeja from 11am to 3pm on March 12th, 2016.

Young and aspiring video directors will get an opportunity to gain firsthand experience from some of the best directors in the global entertainment industry.

Angry Woman Tries To Shoot Barber Because She Hated Haircut

An angry San Diego was ready to shoot up a barbershop because she hated her new haircut. According to WKBW reports, 29-year-old Adrian Blanche Swain wanted a haircut like Rihanna but returned to the salon after realizing the style wasn’t good enough.

Swain tried to open fire at the stylist with a pistol — pulling the trigger three times — but police said the “gun had bullets but malfunctioned.”

“619 Barber Shop has been in business for 20-plus years here in North Park, we’ve never had any incident like that,” barber Chris Tatum said. “When she came in she seemed to be a very pleasant young lady.”

Chris Brown To Remain In Jail Until June

According to TMZ: Chris Brown will rot behind bars until June — at the very least — because the singer’s latest bid for freedom was just DENIED.

Brown — who was jailed last month after getting booted from rehab — was flown to D.C. and promptly jailed as he awaited trial in his assault case.

The trial was supposed to start today … but it was just postponed until June.

Brown asked the judge in the Rihanna beating case to release him, but the judge just shut him down.

According to TMZ reports: Chris Brown just checked into the “Four Seasons” of jails … and good news/bad news — he gets to shower as much as he wants!

Chris arrived in Washington, D.C. after a 5-day trek from California courtesy of Con-Air.

An administrator at Northern Neck Regional Jail in Virginia confirms Chris is currently an inmate — and he’s quick to add Chris isn’t getting special treatment.

Chris has been placed in limited general population with no restrictions — meaning he gets to enjoy all the amenities of the facility, including: – Daily showers, TV, Library, Telephone, Exercise, Meals in the cafeteria.

Marco Fidel Ramirez has called upon Colombia's National Television Authority to ban "Can't Remember To Forget You" clip in Shakira's native country.
