Faircamp 2.0 is coming out in about 2-4 weeks yayyy! ⸜(˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝

But: I still need your help!

One thing that would help me tremendously is if a few more people gave the 2.0 beta a spin and provided feedback! :)

Download links and additional info on the beta is provided in this post: post.lurk.org/@freebliss/11687…

You can send me feedback - both about problems or just that things work fine for you (which is equally important to know!) - on any channel. Here on the fediverse, in the issue tracker at codeberg.org/simonrepp/faircam… or directly via email to "simon < at > fdpl <dot> io" (or wherever else you get hold of me :)).

On that note many thanks to everyone who already tested and reported issues, and this time especially to @richaux and @cubeofcheese who submitted the two most recent issue reports (which are both already fixed and will go into beta6 or the final release :)). \o/

RE: post.lurk.org/users/freebliss/…

It's #FairtradeMusicFriday! Here's a new submission thread for August.

As always, submit your own release or someone else's, it can be by #FediMusicians or not, hosted on #Bandcamp, #Faircamp, #JamCoop, #Mirlo or #SelfHosted, as long as it is by an #IndieArtist - it doesn't even need to be new.

Just make a direct public comment (with a link & description) to this post and it will appear at isitfairtrademusicfri.day automagically!

Buying or boosting will make an artist's day 💙

The fifth beta release for Faircamp 2.0 is now available.

Big thanks to @sknob and @branpos who reported the six issues fixed in this latest beta release.

The support for the online concerts has been outstanding! Better than releases even, it's just custom shows are a hecktonne of prep. So:

I will be doing a control.org eras concert in August. A C2 horrorween noise/powernoise special concert in October. And the World REPLICATION 2026 tour in Nov/Dec where I will perform from the first and upcoming second volume of the REPLICATE covers albums over 4-5 weeks at prime times in various timezones because it's 20:26 somewhere! And universe willing in March I'll perform the entire Radiate album for it's 25th anniversary as we did with Manipulate earlier this year. Holy shirt!

I really need some work to be able to afford the production and healthcare to keep at it. Could you follow, check out my peertube and faircamp, share me out there and help with reach or drop my name to any and all that might like some dark and dirty remixes, soundtracks, beats, installations, game assets for donate what you can koha?

Now that winter has settled in and subsistence farming is less hectic, it should be studio time but unfortunately my campaign for the rising costs of offering free art and staying vertical this year and my offers of donate what you can audio production have not kept up. Been scrambling too much to make interesting posts.

I've spent a week shuffling, merging and rebuilding tech around the studio to keep powering up the live productions and because musos will never be able to afford new RAM or CPU ever again, cheers AI grifters. Immediately I was one m.2 drive short so a bit of help this week would really keep me on track for finishing new originals album and show building. If you don't like me, or my music, do it for Doom Kitty. She is a kick ass drum tech and would love to have heat and meds too.

Catalogue is donate what you can if you can all the time at my #faircamp

@stormii thanks for reporting! For #faircamp links I’m simply checking against the Faircamp webring directory based on the artist names listed for a given site. I suspect this isn’t working well for shorter/more generic names like “mine”. If you wouldn’t mind posting the right one, I can try and figure out a better way to handle that.

Fun update: I made an app over the holiday break!

It’s called Unstream: Find your favorite music on alternative platforms, directly support the artists you love, and move off streaming.

It was directly borne out of my desire to get off Apple Music myself, and instead build a library of music I own through directly supporting artists by buying their music.

You can check it out here, at a URL I still find amusing: unstream.stream

hui, die demo ist cool geworden! 👌

I can’t believe how simple and powerful #faircamp is. It has taken a while for me to understand that I can just have this running on the Webserver I use and build the pages there, which is really comfy.

Thank you to @freebliss for the tool and @meljoann for the great documentation.

Now I just need to decide WHAT I want to put there, and some minor quirks that I have with my very unstructured discography.

Looking for bands (NOT solo projects! I mean actual people interacting and recording) with a self hosted music distribution site such as Faircamp or Funkwhale etc.
Don’t care about the genre, as long as it is bands and Indy hosted. Looking forward to some discoveries. Please respond below 👇
