Checking in with my bird buddies in Ithaca, at the Cornell Lab...

Very vocal now, as dusk works towards sunset. I suppose (northern NYS) they must have seen a lot of the rain and wind in this region, and the sky looks smoke-white too. So I'm hearing different birds than usual and the feeder looks really downtrodden - one feeder, on the left near the woodpecker log, is missing completely, all the peanuts (right feeder) are gone, and most of the seeds (all the seeds in the tray). Ah, a female cardinal has come for a sunset snack.

Maybe nobody's gotten in to the feeders since the weekend, and there was wind; damage? ;-(
