The world's most endangered wild cat species, the Iberian lynx were down to less than fifty individuals in the wild. Aggressive conservation efforts in the past thirty-five years have grown their numbers to over two thousand.
Next January, I'm headed to Spain to photograph these magnificent cats. Can't wait for the experience.

The finance ministers of #Germany, #Italy, #Austria, #Poland, and #Portugal, along with #Spain's economy minister, sent a joint letter to Ireland's finance minister, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency. Moroccans Storm Spain!
Morrocan immigrants are storming mainland Spain — overcrowded boats are landing dozens of refugees in balaclavas on the beaches of Cartagena.
This flow of Moroccans is not stopping — after landing, they quickly return to Ceuta to pick up more immigrants.

I'm in Platja d'Aro today. It's beautiful, almost Noosa vibes with a small shopping strip, but also a boulevard with pine trees everywhere. 🇪🇸
There's a rental unit right on the beach that I could rent per September. Girona is 45 min away, Barcelona 1.5 hrs.

What an amazing #SolarEclipse we witnessed this week! I photographed it from Peñafiel in the north of #Spain, home to a beautiful castle that provided the perfect foreground for the spectacular #eclipse. No picture can do it justice though: there's no substitute to actually seeing a total eclipse in person.

I’m in Spain. I came here to see the solar eclipse that happened yesterday. It was absolutely one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen in my life.
Suddenly, it got dark and cold everywhere. The wind picked up. For a moment, you felt very small, and there was this strange sense of… awe, almost even fear. And that’s despite the fact that I understand the science behind a solar eclipse.
So if I, a person living in the 21st century, can feel something like that, I can only imagine what ancient people must have felt when they saw the Sun suddenly disappear from the sky.
It was an absolutely incredible experience, and I would recommend it to everyone if you ever get the chance to see one.
I’m attaching a photo showing the Sun’s corona and the very first ray of sunlight appearing from behind the Moon.

TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE 🌑
Tarragona, Spain went dark in the middle of the day Wednesday as a total solar eclipse swept through.
At 8:29pm local time, totality hit — the Moon fully blocking the Sun for ~61 seconds.
It's the first total eclipse visible from mainland Europe since 1999; the path crossed the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, and northern Spain.
