According to iNaturalist, this is a specimen of ***Catacanthus punctus***. And according to what I can find out, it is a type of Shield Bug. Visitor to our campsite in Cooktown, Far North Queensland. Absolutely incredible colours. Went on its way unharmed, after kindly hanging around to be photographed.

I keep wanting to draw some invertebrates, but all my brain wants to draw are messed up creatures, but I try to avoid "horror" invertebrates because I don't want to encourage fear of bugs, but I also want to draw some invertebrates.

So I tried to make it look curious.
