Was macht Synthesizer zur Legende? Warum klingt ein Minimoog bis heute anders als seine Software-Emulation? Weshalb hat der Juno 60 einen Sweet Spot, der sich nicht programmieren lässt? Und warum ist der Yamaha CS-80 eher ein Performance-Instrument als ein klassischer Synth?
In Teil 1 unseres Gesprächs mit Michael Soltau (Filmmusik u. a. Notruf Hafenkante) und Stephan Bobinger vom Synthesizer Studio Berlin geht es um analoge Synthesizer als echte Instrumente. Wir sprechen über Haptik, subtraktive Synthese, musikalische Entscheidungsprozesse und darüber, warum Hardware das Denken verändert.
Mit dabei: Minimoog, Juno 60, Oberheim Matrix 12 und Korg PS-3300 – und die Frage, warum manche Instrumente Jahrzehnte überdauern.

Aber in manchen Themenbereichen .z.B #Synthesizer und #Musikproduktion ist hier extrem wenig los, da wollen die Leute natürlich nicht auf ihre jahrelang gewachsene Community verzichten.

Carlos was born in 1939 and is currently 86 years old. She helped develop the first ever commercial #synthesizer, Moog, in 1964. She created the scores for iconic movies including A Clockwork Orange (1971), The Shining (1980), and Tron (1982). She even won three #Grammy awards in 1970 for her album Switched-On Bach. (First trans woman to ever win one!)
She was also one of the first public figures to disclose that she underwent a feminizing gender-affirming surgery (she got the procedure in 1972, went public in 1979).

Als 90er Kind war ich schnell vom Elektrotechnik, Computer, Videospielen und Internet begeistert. Während den BA Neue Medien & Digitale Kultur habe ich ein tieferen verständnis für den Beziehung zwischen Medientechnologie, Mensch und Gesellschaft entwickelt. Nachher habe ich als videoproduzent unter anderem enige Kurzdokfilmen gemacht.
Sonst produziere ich #Ambient Musik mit analog- & Modular #Synthesizer, von denen ich inzwischen einige selbst zusammenlöte. Jetzt arbeite ich als Veranstaltungstechniker.
Ich co-organisiere #InsideOut, eine veranstaltungsreihe in Buffet Nord, wo sich alles um analoge Synthesizer, #DIY Kultur und Outsider artists dreht.
