"For much of the day today, work continued in Kyiv and the region – in Boryspil and Brovary – in the aftermath of the Russian strike. It was a combined attack involving many ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. Unfortunately, ballistic missiles are the most difficult challenge right now. We need missiles for Patriots, and only our partners can provide them."

How Russia’s shadow fleet forced Europe back to sea

Europe’s campaign to choke off Russia’s ability to finance its war through oil revenues began with sanctions, legislation, and price caps. But as hundreds of ships helped Moscow evade those restrictions, Western governments increasingly backed those measures with aggressive maritime enforcement.

No escape from the Russian terror playbook

In the early 1950s, a group of prominent, mostly Jewish doctors from Moscow was accused of plotting to assassinate Soviet leaders on orders from the West. The accused were fired from their jobs, arrested, and tortured. Today, the Kremlin is following the same playbook.

"Work is still ongoing in Odesa following last night’s strike. There were power and water outages – all services are working to restore supplies. As of this morning, more than 300,000 families in Odesa and the region were without power. By now, power has already been restored to a third of them, and the work continues. I want to thank all the repair crews, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and everyone involved."

Serbia’s Vučić sends a signal to Brussels and Moscow by hosting Zelenskyy with pomp and circumstance.

The talks between Zelenskyy and Vučić come as Russia’s war against Ukraine once again intensifies.

Despite Serbia’s historical ties to Russia, its bid to join the EU now seems to have taken the lead in considerations.

#Trump backtracked on Friday from a promise to let #Ukraine make Patriot missiles, a sorely needed #defense interceptor against #Russia’s deadly ballistic missile attacks.

On July 8, Trump had unexpectedly assented to sharing technology behind the missiles to allow Ukraine to build them, saying that “we’ll give them the right to make Patriots” during a meeting with President #Zelensky on the sidelines of the #NATO summit. He added: “We’ll show them how to do it.”

Politisch volle Zustimmung.
