Spurs forward Tim Duncan injures ankle, will not play next three games

San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan has injured his ankle and will not play the next three games.

The star player injured himself in the first quarter while playing the Golden State Warriors on Monday evening.

In a news release on the Spurs website, the team said Duncan had an MRI on Tuesday which confirmed he has a sprained left ankle. He will not join the Spurs in the upcoming three road games against Denver, Portland and Memphis.

Duncan will remain in San Antonio for rehabilitation and treatment, they said. It’s unknown when he will return to playing.
