Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee this week after suffering cartilage damage in Sunday’s playoff loss to Pittsburgh, a team spokesman said.

Jim Saccomano, Bronco director of public relations, said Elway will have surgery Wednesday or Thursday at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver. He said Elway should be fully recovered within three weeks.
