For the ninth day, Vietnamese troops and Cambodian rebels fought for control of a guerrilla camp near the Thai border, and Thailand said it will protest two Vietnamese incursions to the United Nations. International Red Cross sources said nine Cambodians were wounded in an artillery barrage fired by the Vietnamese into the Nong Samet camp. Vietnamese forces occupying Cambodia overran the camp on Christmas day, but the Cambodian rebels have since recaptured about half of it.
