Coppola is a threat: He is an overly paid/fed dinosaur, who along with other whining directors, are threatening the life blood of our industry: The Bottom Line (“Coppola the Artist: ‘I Think I’m a Threat,” by Dale Pollock, Dec. 23).

Coppola accuses Evans of being a “frightened man.” I doubt it. If one need be frightened, it should be over these overly priced and overly insecure “auteurs” who are exacerbating the already escalating costs of film making. JIM SULLIVAN Santa Monica
