A Chicago grand jury investigating home-repair schemes indicted 18 persons, including a contractor whose company charged an 84-year-old widow $50,000 to fix a leaky toilet. “We are seeking jail sentences in these cases,” Illinois Atty. Gen. Neil Hartigan said. “If a person uses a gun to rob an individual of $10, he goes to jail. So should a person who robs a couple out of their life savings.”
