A 2-year-old boy was in critical condition after being struck by a Long Beach police car. Miguel Lara was hit Sunday morning in the 1900 block of Magnolia Avenue when he ran into the path of a patrol car responding to a reported burglary, police said. He was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where a spokesman said the boy was being treated for severe head injuries.
