Smith Leads Loyola Over Portland, 57-53

Guard Keith Smith scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half to lead Loyola Marymount to a 57-53 victory over Portland in a West Coast Athletic Conference game Thursday night at Portland.
The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than five points at any time. Loyola Marymount, trailing, 36-35, with 15:36 left, scored six straight points to go in front to stay.
Loyola is 9-8 overall and 1-1 in WCAC play. Portland is 10-8 and 0-3.
