Expanded Boat Show Opens Friday at Los Angeles Convention Center

Bigger and more complete than ever, the 29th annual Southern California Boat Show opens for 10 days on Friday, Feb. 1, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Show hours are 2 to 10 p.m. weekdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $4.75 for adults, $2 for children under 12, and free for children under six.

The sponsoring Southern California Marina Assn. will present 1,000 boats and 400 accessory displays. Chairman Jack Stanton says the show is the nation’s largest.

The growth has been made possible by the addition of three new buildings at the convention center. The show will now spread over more than 500,000 square feet.

Boats to be shown will range up to 53 feet in length on Cruiser Row, where a wide variety of 1985 pleasure boats will be on display.
