Woman, Son Suspects in Killing

A 44-year-old Los Angeles woman and her 14-year-old son have been arrested on suspicion of murdering their landlady, chopping up her body and disposing of some of the remains in trash cans, police said today.
Francisca Cruz and her son, whose name was withheld, were booked last Friday in connection with the disappearance of Juana Campos, the manager of an apartment building in the 900 block of South Park View Avenue, who was reported missing on Jan. 9. Rent receipts in excess of $2,000 were also missing, police said.
