An Inglewood Unified School District board member has been charged with misuse of public funds by the district attorney’s office, a spokesman said. The charge is the result of an eight-month investigation by the district attorney’s office of school board member Caroline Coleman, 47, who is accused of submitting false expense claims totaling more than $1,500 for a November, 1983, educational conference in New Orleans. Coleman, who is up for reelection next week, is scheduled for arraignment in Los Angeles Municipal Court on Thursday.
