What was that about the “liberal media?”
In the wake of Calendar’s flag-waving American rock music feature (“Reborn in the USA,” by Robert Hilburn, June 2) followed a review by Hilburn of Collins’ (British, you know) concert.
Hilburn criticized the audience for “appearing” to be young, upwardly mobile, Barry Manilow fans, although how he arrived at this perception is not clear.
Perhaps he conferred with Martin Bernheimer who, in a May review of the Philip Glass Ensemble, criticized that audience for its “casual” manner of dress.
Will future reviews take into account audience gender and skin color? Sieg heil !
