‘GOLDEN EAGLE’ AWARDED TO KOCE-TV ‘VISION’ SERIES

KOCE-TV’s instructional series, “The Photographic Vision,” has won a Golden Eagle award for production excellence from the Council on International Non-Theatrical Events in Washington, D.C.

The series is now eligible to represent the United States in international film and videotape festivals, officials at the Huntington Beach-based station said.

The winning entry was a 30-minute program from the 20-part series produced by KOCE and Channel 50’s owner, the Coast Community College District. The producer was Sandra Ostertag.

Produced in association with CBS/Holt, Rinehart and Winston, “The Photographic Vision” was a college-level television course that featured talks by curators, art historians and critics, as well as 20 well-known photographers.

Last June 1, David Hamilton, composer of the score for “The Photographic Vision,” won a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award. (Two other KOCE programs also won Area Emmy Awards: “Marketing,” for outstanding instructional series, and “Agents of Change--A Blackboard Revolution,” for outstanding instructional special).
