As long as you are accepting letters on the whereabouts of the Book Review, I thought you might be interested in this suggestion.
Since it has been publicly admitted by all four of the people who read that section that its main value is the crossword puzzle, why not put the Book Review on the outside of the Sunday Times? That way, when it is tossed on the driveway and thereby shredded beyond repair, only those four will care. In fact, it may be doing them a favor, since it will make the puzzle that much more challenging.
For those of us who attempt to read Jack Smith’s column, being able to see all of the words will allow us to keep proper track of how he is doing on his yearly quota of errors.
