In the recent E. F. Hutton case, a substantial fine was imposed on the company, but there were no prison sentences. The fine was paid by the stockholders, but the perpetrators of the crime suffered no penalty. I suggest that in future cases there should be mandatory prison sentences for the chairman of the board, the president and any other identifiable guilty persons.
I have taken E. F. Hutton as an example, but I believe the same sentencing should apply to defense contractors and other organizations who cheat the government and the public.
