About 700 teachers, administrators and counselors are meeting at UCLA through Aug. 2 for a series of institutes designed to enhance their knowledge and skills. The program, called University Programs Dedicated to Advancing Teachers’ Expertise (UPDATE), will include workshops on mathematics, science, writing, literature, humanities, geography and counseling.
