The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said its staff members are “concerned about performance deficiencies” at nuclear facilities run by the TVA. William Dircks, the NRC’s executive director for operations, said that the staff’s concern resulted from statements made by TVA employees on quality control at the authority’s five operating nuclear units and four under construction.
