Outfoxed

In Richard Eder’s review of Jane Burroway’s book, “Opening Nights” (Book Review, June 23), it was not Isaiah Berlin’s phrase that taught us the difference between the fox and the hedgehog, but the 7th-Century Greek poet Archilochos (see “The Fragments of Archilochos,” translated by Guy Davenport; University of California, 1964, n. 183).
