UCLA Names Dean of Honors Division

Edward A. Alpers, a UCLA professor of history, has been named dean of the Division of Honors of UCLA’s college of Letters and Science.
The Program will be centered in the newly dedicated Irving and Jean Stone Honors Commons, which includes a computer center, student lounge and art gallery. The commons area was funded by a gift from authors Irving and Jean Stone, and will be used for seminars, study groups, poetry and dramatic readings, student concerts and recitals.
