GE’s Calma division will hire 275 engineers.

A “good number” of those newly hired engineers will be based in San Diego at General Electric’s Calma division research and development operation, a Calma spokeswoman said, while between 75 and 100 engineers will be based at Calma’s headquarters in Milpitas, Calif. The remaining engineers will be split between Austin, Tex., and San Diego. Calma, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE, is a leading supplier of computer aided design systems for worldwide markets.
