Son of African Leader Jailed on Drug Charge

CHICHESTER, England — The 45-year-old son of Sierra Leone President Siaka P. Stevens was jailed for three years Monday for smuggling marijuana into Britain.
A court in this southern England port found James Stevens guilty of bringing in 26 pounds of marijuana worth $19,000. Stevens’ common-law wife, Bertha Tucker, 28, and his niece Fatmata Mansaray, 25, were given jail terms of 30 months and 21 months respectively for their part in the smuggling.
