Security Pacific formed a new research unit.

The Los Angeles-based financial-services company, parent of Security Pacific National Bank, said the new unit, to be called Security Pacific Financial Strategies Inc., would develop software and other tools for use by institutional investment managers. The unit will be based in New York but will add a Los Angeles office later this year and one in London next year.
