Richard Petty, the winningest driver in the history of NASCAR Grand National stock car racing, said he is parting company with team owner Mike Curb. Petty, a seven-time Winston Cup champion, said he will reopen his own racing operation at Petty Enterprises in Level Cross, N.C., after the 1985 season.
