A British weightlifter who disappeared after pleading guilty in San Diego to smuggling illegal steroids was arrested in Albuquerque, N.M. A U. S. Customs agent and U. S. marshals arrested Richard Anthony Fitton and ended a five-month search for the British power lifter. The 242-pound Fitton pleaded guilty to smuggling steroids but failed to show up for his April 10 sentencing.

The latest effort is coming from the L.A. County Board of Supervisors. They just announced a $3 million program in conjunction with some nonprofits groups to test and clean the soil at homes still standing in the areas impacted by the Eaton Fire.
