Martinez Column on Northridge Issue

Usually Al Martinez is a wry, entertaining, equal-opportunity bigot. However, when he compares the Northridge Latinos about to be bumped (Aug. 19) to South Africa’s blacks, he comes across like a narrow-minded, manipulative, obfuscating bigot.
This paper has already described many of those Latinos as being here illegally. That, by the way, translates into “criminal.” Why should they be allowed to flout our laws as well as to create additional squalor? God knows we have enough to handle with our own poor--of every color.
