Schabarum View on Aids

I don’t think you went far enough in your editorial (Sept. 16) when you called the Los Angeles supervisors “sleepy”--how about “comatose”? While AIDS continues its inexorable increase among the population, Schabarum spouts off about how the taxpayers will insist on combating AIDS with “decency and good taste.”

Schabarum should have the decency and good taste to keep his personal, prejudiced and pious opinions to himself and get behind a community effort to educate the public about AIDS; attempt to calm the growing public hysteria, and--last but not least--supervise, not criticize!
