The condition of transplant patient Michael Drummond improved slightly as he continued to fight a lung infection, University Medical Center officials said in Tucson. Drummond, 25, who had received a Jarvik-7 artificial heart as a temporary measure before the transplant, remained in serious condition in the intensive care unit.
