Two firms increased the price they will pay for oil.

Tesoro Petroleum, a San Antonio-based independent refiner, said it will now pay $27.75 a barrel, up 25 cents, for West Texas Intermediate, the domestic benchmark crude. Tesoro said the price increase, which affected other crudes, reflected competitive price changes in the market. Citgo Petroleum of Tulsa, Okla., reported that it raised the price it will pay for West Texas Intermediate crude by 50 cents to $27.75 a barrel.
