NCR Corp. reported that its third-quarter profit was down 26% from the year-earlier period, which included a one-time $30.6-million tax credit. Excluding the credit, NCR’s earnings would have been up 8%. NCR, which produces computerized business information processing systems, said its after-tax profit totaled $71.7 million in the July-September quarter.
