The State - News from Oct. 22, 1985

Flames destroyed five small airplanes and several hangars at a private airport in Eureka in one of two fires in the community, authorities said. There were no injuries in either blaze. A Eureka Fire Department dispatcher said the single-engine private planes were virtually “melted down” in a dawn blaze at Murray Field. That fire occurred about an hour before another flared in Eureka at a store named “A Lot of Video.” An early report said there was considerable damage to the building and contents. Both fires were under investigation.
