Man Lost Overboard on QE2

LONDON — An elderly Briton has been lost overboard from the luxury liner Queen Elizabeth 2 while 1,100 miles off the British coast, the Cunard shipping line said today.
The 67,000-ton ship, traveling from New York to Southampton, England, turned back and conducted a vain search Tuesday night after the British passenger traveling with his wife was reported missing and other passengers said they thought they had seen someone fall past a porthole. Cunard said no foul play was suspected.
