DISNEY CARTOON FETCHES $24,200

NEW YORK — A cartoon on a celluloid strip from Walt Disney’s studio showing Mickey Mouse leading a band sold Wednesday for a record $24,200 at an auction at Christie’s in New York.
It was the highest price paid for a cartoon from the Disney animation studios.
The 1935 cartoon was the first in which Mickey appeared in color. It was bought by American dealer and the sale broke a record of $20,900 set last year.
