The Region - News from Dec. 8, 1985

Checkpoints to test for drunk drivers will be set up this week by the California Highway Patrol. Drivers selected will be interviewed for about 30 seconds, the CHP said, unless a sobriety test is required. The CHP’s Dec. 13 checkpoints will be in Redding, North Sacramento, Marin County, Bakersfield, Ontario, South Los Angeles, Ventura and El Cajon. In addition, each of the CHP’s eight field divisions will have at least two temporary checkpoints over the Christmas holiday period and another two during the New Year’s holiday.
