Yellow Dog R.R.

That was a delightful article on Mississippi and the Blues (Dec. 14) But David Treadwell couldn’t have known that the “Yellow Dog” wasn’t the “Yazoo and Mississippi Railroad,” but the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley. The Y. & M. V. was part of commerce, the culture and the language of that part of the state. It was pronounced “Wine M.V.”
