Parati, Brazil, is a timeless wonder, having spent two months there during the shooting of the movie, “The Emerald Forest.” But no mention in Sharon Dirlam’s article (Nov. 24) of the beautiful Pousada de Oro, a hotel and restaurant with excellent food, and the owner speaks English. And also no mention of the excellent restaurant the Hiltinhino on the main square, where you can observe the locals playing volleyball or hear the street music through the always wide-open windows. The specialty is fresh fish, which can be selected from the one English menu. And if all else fails, ask for the town sheriff, Gabrielle; he speaks perfect English.
