A former California Highway Patrol officer pleaded guilty in a Sacramento federal court to manufacturing methamphetamines in a laboratory. Thomas Lee Taylor, 39, faces a federal prison term of up to 15 years and a $250,000 fine. Federal, state and local drug agents raided Taylor’s rural Pine Grove residence last Oct. 25 and found what they described as a large-scale methamphetamine manufacturing laboratory. The drug sells on the street for $18,000 a pound. Taylor had resigned from the CHP several years ago and was unemployed at the time of his arrest, officials said.
